Sean From Season 2 of 'The Mole' Is More Than Just a Stay-at-Home Dad (SPOILERS)
In the Season 2 finale of Netflix's 'The Mole,' host Ari Shapiro calls upon "the Mole" to come forward — and Sean steps up to reveal himself.

On a show like Netflix's hit reality competition series The Mole, it's hard not to get into the mentality of thinking everyone is a suspect. But what can we say, every single player gives us reason enough to be suspicious of them with each episode that passes!
And although he wasn't on many people's radar from the start, Sean stands a pretty good chance at being exposed as Season 2's secret saboteur.
But is Sean actually "the Mole" in The Mole? In a way, that might almost be too easy, since he is a retired undercover police officer. But what if nearly everything he says to the other players, and by extension, the viewers at home, is a total lie?
The life of the Mole is a lonely one each season, but Sean could be made for this role. So, what do you think? Is Sean actually the Mole? Read on to find out!
So, is Sean "the Mole" in Season 2 of 'The Mole'?
In the Season 2 finale, host Ari Shapiro gathers the final three contestants — Muna, Sean, and Michael — in front of the entire cast. He then prompts the Mole to reveal themselves.
Listen, we all anticipated Michael to step forward — but to our surprise, Sean shockingly unveils himself as the Mole. Now that's what you call a plot twist!
The rest of the cast is left completely speechless, marveling at Sean's strategic gameplay and acknowledging he was never high on their radar as a suspect. Luckily for Sean, they welcome him back with open arms, and he couldn't be more grateful.
As the group convenes for their final meeting, Ari directs his attention to Sean, recalling his initial introduction as a stay-at-home dad. However, there's actually a surprising twist to Sean's story.
"So, I am a legit stay-at-home dad. That's not a lie. But, the last eight and a half years of my career, I was an undercover narcotics investigator and, I worked alongside the DEA," Sean reveals.
"I had the long beard, the long hair. I would do narcotics reversals, money reversals," he adds. "A lot of my training was reading people. It's building a quick rapport with people, extracting information, and using it against them, and that's what I wanted to do in this game."
Sean says being the Mole is "crazier" than working as an undercover narcotics investigator..
When questioned about which is crazier — being the Mole or working as an undercover narcotics investigator — Sean admits that being the Mole is significantly more intense.
"I was legit stressing before each mission because ... I wanted to be as covert as I possibly could as if I was working again in my real life. I didn't want to be made by anybody," Sean explains. "And these people, these 11 people, are from every different class of the world. They're intelligent, beautiful, smart, educated. Criminals are dumb! You can get them to tell you anything if you do enough. And these are 11 smart people, I'm like, 'Yo, this is going to be difficult.'"
Ultimately, Ari observes that the Sean we see now is a stark contrast to the Sean during the game. Sean confesses his intention to go undercover, explaining, "I wanted to be this bumbling, goofy, average white dad of America."
We don't know about you, but Sean certainly played us like a fiddle!
