The "Ding Dong Keep It On" Bell was added to 'The Masked Singer' for Season 9.

A preview for the Season 9 premiere revealed new rules for The Masked Singer. Every episode of that season featured a sudden elimination and double unmaskings. Additionally, panelists were able to utilize what's known as the "Ding Dong Keep It On" Bell, which allows them to save a singer from elimination.

In Season 11, the bell can only be used in the Battle Royale semi-final episodes, moving a contestant directly into the finale rather than being eliminated.

Although it is unconfirmed, many speculate that the "Ding Dong Keep It On" Bell was meant to placate fans who were frustrated when strong singers were eliminated from the competition early. The bell can only be used by panelists, not the audience. There is also usually a limit to how many times the bell can be used throughout the season.

In Season 9, the bell was used three times: Nicole used it to save Medusa (who then went on to win the whole season!), Jenny used it to save Gargoyle, and Robin used it to save Mantis.

In Season 10, Ken used the bell to save Gazelle (who then went on to get third place that season).

In Season 11, judge Rita Ora used the bell to save Poodle Moth!

Robin spoke to Good Day Atlanta ahead of Season 9 about the experience of ringing the bell. "It feels good, you give them one more chance, you give them some redemption, you give them another shot at the title. It's a fun new inclusion to the show."

For your own chance to see the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell in action, tune into The Masked Singer Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on FOX.
